Daniel Bonsell
I am a native Coloradan. I graduated from Thornton High School andloved it here so much I didn't even try to leave for college. I went
to Metropolitan State College of Denver where I eventually decided
upon and finished with degrees in Mathematics and Chicano Studies.
During and after college I worked in schools all over the metro area
which affirmed my belief in the need for school reform. I then went to
law school to learn Education and Indian law, but had to return to
Denver after the first year. As a result I had the privilege of
working at KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy for one year. Taking the
inspiration of such a successful Charter school I chose to work in
another this year - The Odyssey School. Teaching at Odyssey has been a
fulfilling learning experience for myself, and opened my eyes to the
tremendous benefits that an Expeditionary School provides for
students.
