Sebastiaan Zuidweg
I was born on the small Caribbean Island of Curacao off the coast of Venezuela. After spending the first couple years of my life floating in the sea we moved to Rotterdam, Holland where my entire family resides. When I was eight, my family immigrated to the U.S. and I spent most of my childhood and adolescent years in the Seattle area. At the age of eighteen I moved to Boulder Colorado to attend the University of Colorado. I graduated with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. The following few years were a time of exploration and adventure on both an internal and external level. I spent much of my time traveling the world, meeting people and connecting with nature. The wilderness has always been a place of reflection and sanctuary for me. It has been an integral part of my growth and health as a human being. When I discovered the Wilderness Therapy program at Naropa University, I jumped for the opportunity because I knew it was the right path for me. I am currently finishing the last year of my masters in Wilderness Therapy (Transpersonal Counseling Psychology) and am finding it a perfect application with the educational philosophies of The Odyssey School.
